    Furniture FAQ

    General Information

What sets your furniture apart from other luxury brands?

Pierre Yovanovitch Mobilier brings the designer’s “Made in France” style of understated elegance together with expert-craftsmanship, and consciously sourced materials to offer timeless pieces. Our sustainability efforts center around our use of raw materials obtained from natural sources, making it possible to create long lasting works. These materials are sourced with consideration of their carbon footprint and chosen for their exceptional quality.

Where is your furniture designed and manufactured?

Our furniture is designed and manufactured in France. Most of our glasses are made in Switzerland. Our rugs are made in Nepal and in France.

Do you work with specific designers or artisans?

Pierre Yovanovitch Mobilier has an in-house design team and its own upholstery and woodworking manufacture in France. The brand also collaborates with a network of artisans in France and Switzerland, carefully selected for their exceptional craftsmanship.

Can I visit a showroom or gallery to view the pieces in person?

We will be happy to welcome you in Pierre Yovanovitch’s showrooms in Paris and in New York.

    Materials & Craftsmanship

Where do your materials come from?

All our materials are sourced from Europe. The wood comes from sustainably managed forests. Our stoneware, glazes, glass, and granites are all of European origin, while our lava stone is sourced from France.

Our fabrics come from a selection of renowned fabric editors. Our hand-knotted rugs are made in Nepal, and our tufted rugs are crafted in France.

Are your wood/leather/upholstery materials sustainably sourced?

Pierre Yovanovitch Mobilier closely monitors the sustainability of its entire manufacturing chain, including material sourcing. Most of our materials are sustainably sourced.

Our upholstery foam is currently sourced from standard industry suppliers, as eco-friendly alternatives are not yet sufficiently developed to meet our quality standards.

    Can I order some samples?

Yes, you can order some samples from your contact person.

How do you ensure the quality and longevity of your furniture?

Pierre Yovanovitch Mobilier designs are created to last a lifetime. Crafted with traditional wood joinery, luxurious materials, and exceptional savoir-faire, each piece is designed to last and age gracefully over time.

    Are the lightings UL-listed?

Most of our lighting pieces feature UL-certified components.

If you require your lighting to be fully UL-listed, Pierre Yovanovitch Mobilier can recommend a trusted partner in New York to handle the certification process.

Is your furniture numbered and signed?

Yes, each piece of furniture comes with a certificate of authenticity indicating its unique serial number. Every piece is also stamped with Pierre Yovanovitch’s signature.

Pierre Yovanovitch Mobilier can authenticate any piece through its specific identifying marks.

    Will my furniture be unique?

Each piece is made to order. Pierre Yovanovitch Mobilier celebrates the artisan’s touch and the natural variations in materials. Crafted from solid wood, ceramic, mouth-blown glass, and hand-applied patinas, each creation bears the marks of nature, craftsmanship, and time – making your piece truly one of a kind.

    Orders & Customization

How can I place an order?

Can I choose my own fabric ?

You may also choose your own fabric –  your contact person will advise you on its feasibility based on the selected furniture.

How do I place a bespoke order?

You can place a bespoke order through your contact person. Your request will be reviewed by our team to ensure it aligns with Pierre Yovanovitch’s design DNA, and a drawing will be provided for your approval.

    Do you offer design consultations?

Yes, we offer design consultations. Our design team will be happy to assist with your project, and an estimate can be provided upon request.

What is the lead time for made-to-order items?

The lead time for made-to-order pieces will be provided by your contact person and may vary depending on the workshop’s production schedule.

Is there a minimum order value for custom pieces?

No, there is no minimum order value. However, for custom pieces that require a specific technical study, a retainer may be requested. This will be discussed directly with your contact person.

I have seen a piece of furniture in a deco project in the press; can I order it?

We would be happy to review your enquiry. As most of our furniture is made-to-measure for specific design projects, we will need to assess your request in the context of your own interior. For upholstered pieces, for instance, we must confirm details such as fabric availability to ensure it has not been discontinued.

    Shipping & Delivery

    Do you offer international delivery?

Yes, we do offer international delivery. Your contact person will study your request to answer.

How are your pieces packaged and shipped?

Do you provide assistance for the installation?

All our furniture and lighting pieces are delivered with an installation guide. Assistance with installation can also be provided upon request.

Our shipping partners are trained to handle and install our pieces. As our creations are true works of craftsmanship, we recommend having a professional cabinetmaker install any sofas with a wooden structure.

Our team remains available to answer any questions you may have during installation.

How do you handle deliveries in difficult-to-access locations?

Any difficult-to-access locations (for example, narrow doors, small elevators, or stair-only access) should be mentioned when placing your order, so our designers and craftsmen can plan and build your furniture accordingly.

Our shipping partner is informed of all relevant details prior to delivery.

In certain cases, a site visit or the intervention of a craftsman may be required.

    Care & Maintenance

How should I care for my solid wood furniture to preserve its quality?

Solid wood is a living material and may take one to two years to stabilize in its new environment.

We recommend maintaining a humidity level between 45% and 55%, as advised by ANSES, the French National Health Safety Agency.

If your environment does not meet these conditions, please inform your contact person so that our designers and craftsmen can adapt the construction of your piece accordingly.

Do you offer maintenance or restoration services?

Yes, we offer maintenance and restoration services. Our team will be happy to assist with any care or restoration needs for your piece.

Are care instructions provided with each piece?

    Returns & Policies

What is your return or exchange policy?

As each piece is made to order, we do not accept returns or exchanges.

What should I do if my piece arrives damaged?
